in the country of Gévaudan and Auvergne

During the reign of Louis XV, in the countries which make up approximately the current department of Lozere, a huge beast attack humans, especially women and children.

Using the departmental archives and parish or all deaths are recorded, sometimes with details on the circumstances of death, the author follows the animal in its movements murderers, said some of the fiercest attacks, terrorism shows that the wolf is to reign for many years and the heroic actions of some farmers.
